Student practice,
Winemaking trial with the Agricultural School
The Ciudad de Tinogasta Agricultural School and the IES Oenology programme make wine together, aiming for organic wine.

This harvest, a winemaking trial was set up through an agreement between the Ciudad de Tinogasta Agricultural School and the Higher Technical Degree in Oenology and Viticulture at IES Tinogasta.
The Agricultural School grows the grapes, and the wine is made jointly by its 7th-year students and 2nd- and 3rd-year Oenology students.
The provincial Directorate of Agricultural Schools, headed by Matías Cabrera, together with the Director of Higher Education, Prof. Alexis Jerez, and other school authorities, stressed the need to strengthen this joint work between both institutions and ensure its continuity. The challenge ahead: organic grapes grown by the school and certified organic wines made together.
Photos of the work done, from harvest to winemaking, the authorities’ visit and laboratory analysis. All these activities are coordinated by teachers from IEST and the Agricultural School.
We thank our authorities for their visit: Governor Raúl Jalil, Education Minister Dalmacio Mera, Director of Agricultural Schools Matías Cabrera, National Deputy David Sebastián Nóblega, Tinogasta Mayor Ernesto Andrada and other school authorities, IES Tinogasta Rector Prof. Luis Ávila, and the Agricultural School’s Work Training Coordinator, Luis Córdoba.
Visits like these help make our students’ work visible and keep strengthening a programme that is strategic for wine growing in our province, and in the department of Tinogasta in particular.
